“Powering Pakistan for the 21st Century” is a three-volume document prepared by the Pakistan Alliance for Maths and Science (PAMS).
The third volume is titled “A Roadmap for Maths and Science Education”. The purpose of this report is to highlight the importance of maths and science education in Pakistan’s classrooms and laboratories, identify the key challenges and provide a way forward. The reports focus especially on public schools, where the majority of Pakistani students go.
In the third volume, a series of ideas and recommendations will be presented that can help Pakistan, as a state and as a society, re-orient public policy and private investment decisions, to serve a more prosperous future. This report will be launched on Friday by the Physlab, Lahore University of Management Sciences, in collaboration with Khwarizmi Science Society and other partners of the Pakistan Maths and Science Alliance.
The National STEM School is a 10-day residential programme for 14-17 year olds to come and experience the excitement of learning science by doing science and building things! The National STEM School shall be an annual programme designed to bring the best and brightest kids from across the country and give them ‘wings’ to realise their dreams!
The 1st National STEM School is being organised at PhysLab at Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS) in collaboration with Institute of Integrated Biosciences (IIB), Habib University, Khwarzimi Science Society (KSS), and Zeds Astronomical Observatory from December 27 to January 5, 2017.

Physlab at LUMS is co-organizing the Lahore Science Mela 2017 in collaboration with Khwarizmi Science Society and Ali Institute of Education.

The goal of Lahore Science Mela is not to teach but to have fun, hands-on activities, aimed at all age groups, that create a sense of inquiry and passion. The grand fair will be hosted at the Ali Institute of Education, a teacher-education institute committed to improving education in Pakistan.

The Regional Laboratory Immersion Program (RLIP) 2016 is an international training workshop program organized by the Department of Physics,and the Centre for Experimental Physics Education (CEPE), Syed Babar Ali School of Science and Engineering, Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS), Lahore.
