Byonyks aim to bring low-cost and widely accessible Continuous Glucose Monitoring devices, Insulin Pumps and other technological innovations to the developing world. These inventions already exist in the developed world; it is now our mission to allow countries like Pakistan to benefit from them as well. According to the International Diabetes Federation, approximately 425 million people in the world suffer from diabetes out of which around 88,000 patients end up losing their lives every day. In 2017, Pakistan alone had 7,474,000 cases of diabetes, which is 6.9% of the total adult population. To address this, we are developing Pakistan’s first Artificial Pancreas closed-loop system which will include Continuous Glucose Monitoring (CGM) device as well as an Insulin Pumping System.
