Senior Lab Instructor

The position requirements are given below:

Masters/Mphil/PhD Physics or Allied Discipline

Minimum Qualification: A masters or PhD degree in physics or allied discipline.

Skills and Attributes: The candidate should possess an exceptional master or PhD degree with demonstrated experience with a reasonable subset of the following:

  • Physics experimentation
  • Common lab equipment (Oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, amplifiers, digital meters
  • Common computer tools (LabView, Proteus, some high frequency simulation software)
  • Coding for user interfaces, image processing, data processing acquisition, processing, analysis and presentation and microcontroller interfacing (preferably in C#, C++, Python, Matlab etc)
  • Candidates must show evidence of prior teaching, preferably of laboratory courses
  • Some evidence of design of new experiments
  • Excellent writing skills
Responsibilities: Teaching the advanced lab course https://physlab.org/lab-ii-phy-300

Becoming the custodian of the laboratory, troubleshooting, maintenance and upkeep of equipment, teaching the lab course

Salary and Contract: At least Rs. 75,000 up to 150,000 per month for about five months.

Electrical/Telecommunication Engineer

Electrical/Telecommunication Engineer

Minimum Qualification

A bachelor’s degree in electrical/computer engineering or a similar course.

Skills and Attributes

The candidate should possess an exceptional bachelor degree with demonstrated experience (maybe as coursework) with a reasonable subset of the following:

  • Analog and embedded electrical circuit design (Amplifiers, filters, power supplies, motor drivers, sensors, RF, Embedded user interfaces)
  • PCB design, simulation, and analysis
  • Arduino programming
  • Common lab equipment (Oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, amplifiers, digital meters)
  • Common computer tools (LabView, Proteus, some high-frequency simulation software)
  • Coding for user interfaces, image processing, data processing acquisition, processing, analysis and presentation, and microcontroller interfacing (preferably in C#, C++, Python, Matlab, etc)

Responsibilities

  • Design and development of electronic test and sensing equipment

Experience

None required but preferred.

Salary and Contract

Rs. 60,000 per month for twelve months.

Mechanical Engineer

Skills and Attributes

The candidate should possess an exceptional bachelor or master degree with demonstrated experience with a subset of the following:

  • Mechanical design and manufacture of electro-mechanical equipment, thermal equipment (heaters, sensors)
  • Design software solutions like PTC Creo, Solid Edge and Solid Works

Responsibilities

  • Product design and development of scientific equipment
  • Engineering design and modeling
  • Work packages for our instruments

Salary and Contract

At least Rs. 50,000 per month for twelve months.

Software Developer

Software Developer

Job description:

The candidate is required to work on a desktop application being developed constituting a rich but computationally lean graphics environment, communicating with multiple microcontrollers and cloud components.The main task of the developer is to augment the system by adding similar units, tracing bugs, testing and documentation.

Skills:

The candidate should possess a strong concept of object oriented programming and have demonstrated experience of writing software for desktop and embedded platforms. Specifically, the candidate should possess a sharp eye for spotting and correcting bugs in desktop applications written in C#. In general we are looking for an individual with a subset of the following skills:

1.       Desktop application development in C#

2.       Identifying and correcting bugs

3.       A strong understand of multithreaded, object oriented systems

4.       Data processing, user interface development and communication on legacy data buses in microcontrollers

5.       Clear understanding and experience of OOP in C/C++

6.       Understanding of development in SharpDX/DirectX

Minimum Qualification:

Students or fresh graduates of software engineering, computer science, electrical engineering with a demonstrated software development profile.

Project duration:

Project duration is for 2 months and the total project honorarium will be at least 75,000 for the complete duration, payable in two installments. A contract will be signed.

Postdoc in optical science

Postdoc in optical science

Minimum Qualification

A PhD degree in physics, electrical, mechanical engineering, optics, photonics or a similar discipline.

Skills and Attributes

The candidate should poses an exceptional bachelor or master degree followed by excellent contributions to doctoral work with demonstrated experimental experience in a reasonable subset of the following:

  • Building optical systems
  • Terahertz optics
  • Interfacing electrical, optical and magnetic systems
  • Strong theoretical training in condensed matter physics

Responsibilities

  • Design and research on optical detection of magnons

Experience

No prior post-doctoral experience required.

Salary and Contract

At least Rs. 125,000 per month for six months extensible to up to two years at a higher salary.

HEC-TDF project in Physlab

Senior Electrical Engineer

Minimum Qualification

A bachelors/masters degree in electrical/computer engineering or a similar course.

Senior Mechanical Engineer / Product Designer / Industrial Designer

Minimum Qualification

A bachelors/masters degree in product and industrial design, mechanical engineering or a similar course.

Skills and Attributes

The candidate should poses an exceptional bachelor or master degree with demonstrated experience with a subset of the following:

  • Mechanical design and manufacture of commercial electro-mechanical equipment
  • Process automation and large scale production
  • Manufacturing techniques including 3D printing, CNC milling and injection molding
  • Design software solutions like PTC Creo, Solid Edge and Solid Works
  • Aesthetics and ergonomics of products
  • Working with international vendors and fabrication services

Responsibilities

  • Product design and development of scientific equipment
  • Up-gradation of existing products for better commercial and scientific value
  • Mass-production and process management of electro-mechanical equipment

Experience

3 years or more of relevant experience. However, this can be relaxed for exceptional candidates.

Salary and Contract

At least Rs. 75,000 per month for twenty months.
