Dear PhysLab members
By the Grace of Allah, I wanted to share the news of the decade. Our group member Wardah Mahmood, has been hired as ‘Quantum Engineer’ at the Qubitrium.
Qubitrium is an upcoming company that specializes in quantum hardware and quantum computing based products, especially for space exploration and communication. She will work out of the Delft (Netherlands) office and will join later this spring.
I think this is soul-lifting news for me, on a personal level. Having worked with Wardah as a colleague for several years, I knew she had the spark and talent that would be the envy of many employers. I wish her best of luck as she makes her way through the final legs of experimental work for her PhD. I am also happy that she has found an international stage to showcase her expertise, and to grow intellectually; at a place that, Insha Allah, truly recognizes her strengths.
Last week, I was also heartened to meet our former PhD student Dr. Muzamil Shah in his beautiful office in the beautiful precincts of the Quaid-e-Azam University, as he begins his expedition to train numerous researchers in the physics of condensed matter.
For someone like myself who thinks deeply about education, I think I cannot be a more relieved person than what I am now, to see all these group members create their own trajectories in the deep deep woods out there.
