Description | |
We built a triple-axis Hall effect-based magnetometer. The Hall sensors are mounted on a triple-slot sensor probe which is attached to translation stages allowing motion in three dimensions. The stages are driven by stepper motors in turn controlled by Physlogger’s Motor Controller. The systems is supported by a vertical truss and fixed on a solid base. The jig will be used for mapping the magnetic field from various magnet geometries as we intend to complete building our low field NMR machine. The work has been supported by the Physlab workshop notably Mohammad Shoaib, Umar Hassan, Khadim Mehmood and Ayyaz Mehmood. We colloquially call this contraption the ‘giraffe’. Here are some translation specs.
